LS&S Sport Talking Watch Review

LS&S Sport Talking Watch Review
Ordering assistive equipment online can involve some trial and error before you find the equipment that’s right for you. I ordered a sports talking watch from LS&S (Learning Sight and sound) company. This article reviews the watch and specific functions that may help you decide if this is a good watch for you.

When I begin the process of ordering items from an online company I make a list of what I want the product to do for me. I knew I wanted a talking watch. I wanted a watch light on my wrist, easy to use, not made of metal (especially the wristband of the watch) and a dependable durable watch.

I wanted a watch that was easy to set the time of day, included an announce time function, easy alarm setting, provided a selection of alarm sounds and is water resistant to light rain or accidental splashing when washing hands. In addition, I wanted a watch I could afford or one reasonably priced.

The LS&S Sports Talking Watch fit all of the above qualifications. The watch is made of a durable plastic making the watch feel light on my wrist and not bulky. The watch has four buttons that follow a common format of talking watches that include a button on the upper right hand side(largest button) that announces the time, the upper left hand button cycles through the set time (hours and minutes), set alarm (hours and minutes using one beep for time set mode, two beeps for alarm set mode and three beeps to let you know that the set mode function is off. The lower right and left hand buttons set hour and minute, turn on and off alarm and cycle through the alarm sound choices.

The watch according to my sighted friends looks fashionable and sporty. The watch is water resistant from light rain or accidental splashing from hand washing. The price of the watch is very reasonable at nineteen dollars and ninety-five cents plus shipping. The total cost of the watch came to approximately twenty-seven dollars.

The issue for any talking watch with raised buttons on each side of the watch is accidental pressing of the buttons that can results in a changing of time setting, embarrassing announcement of time at an inappropriate moment and the turning on or off of an alarm setting. I have not experienced the trouble with accidental pressing of the buttons with the LS&S Sports Talking Watch. I am an active person using my hands frequently and all day long developing numerous opportunities for accidental button pressing to occur. Therefore, I do not believe this is an issue with the watch.
